Urban and regional planners are responsible for ensuring that cities, towns and regions have vibrant economies and communities, provide for a high quality of life, and are environmentally sustainable.

To achieve this, planners need a good understanding of the way in which societies, economies and environments operate and interact.

Graduates of the Master of Urban and Regional Planning will have a solid understanding of urban and regional planning and the research skills to solve complex planning issues.

Domestic students may be eligible for a Commonwealth supported place and a faculty bursary within this course.

Admission requirements

Applicants require a relevant bachelor's degree from this or another recognised university, or to have successfully completed the Graduate Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning from this university, or an approved equivalent.

Students admitted with a relevant Honours (4th Year) or Graduate Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning may be permitted to complete the Master of Urban and Regional Planning in one year.

English Language Competence

All applicants for UWA coursework programs must demonstrate a minimum level of English Language Competence.
