Course outline

The course is designed to consolidate students understanding of interdisciplinary research and its application to current issues relating to human well-being and human futures. A research dissertation and thesis are completed, both of which integrate several disciplines to focus on a specific human problem.

Students undertake 2 years of study (96 points) which includes coursework units and a research component

Plus a 36 point Dissertation IHST 8820 – 8825 parts 1-6 Integrated Human Studies Dissertation

Students choose 24 points Elective Units from Group A or Group B in consultation with Program Coordinator:

  • S1, S2 IHST8813 Collaborative Online Inquiry into Twenty-first-century Challenges (12 points)

  • S1, S2 IHST8814 Integrated Human Studies Project Part 1
  • S1, S2 IHST8815 Integrated Human Studies Project Part 2
  • S1, S2 IHST8816 Integrated Human Studies Project Part 3
  • S1, S2 IHST8817 Integrated Human Studies Project Part 4

Admission requirements

A Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline from this University or equivalent, as recognised by the Faculty.

English Language Competence

All applicants for UWA coursework programs must demonstrate a minimum level of English Language Competence.
