Combined degrees

A combined course, or double degree, allows you to take a science degree plus another degree in a different field. You will specialise in major areas of study from both courses, and be awarded two degrees, when you successfully complete your studies.

If you have the entry requirements (which are considerably higher than for a single degree, see the TER cut-off scores and admission requirements), you can combine a Bachelor of Science with:

Course duration can be reduced by taking an overload each year.

Students who want to study the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture can combine that degree with a Bachelor of Economics or a Bachelor of Commerce (5 to 5 1/2 years).

You can also begin a Bachelor of Science only, and then apply to transfer to a combined course if your marks reach the required standard, though this may extend the duration of your study.

In a combined degree you cannot complete a specialised program in science. Instead, you will take a foundation package before going on to complete one, or possibly two, science majors.
