Fisheries ecology and oceanography to inform management of the western rock lobster
The Western Rock Lobster Council (WRLC) and Fisheries Research Development Corporation have funded UWA and Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development-Fisheries to investigate an area at the center of the fishery with unusually low lobster abundance.
Synthetic biology tools for biosynthesis of small molecules
The production of bioactive small molecules in microorganisms involves orchestrating multiple genes encoding various biosynthetic enzymes.
Predicting China's peak carbon emissions and compliance cost
This project uses data at the global, national, provincial, industry and firm levels to model China's peak carbon emissions and associated environmental compliance costs under various regulatory scenarios.
Corporate geographies
This projects aims to examine the resilience, productivity and competitiveness of cities and their regional networks in the face of economic vulnerability and global change.
Productivity and efficiency analysis
This project uses data at the farm, firm, industry and state levels to investigate relative performance and productivity change; the analysis could be environmentally sensitive, including undesirable outputs.
Agent-based modelling of land use policy effects
This project investigates the effects on land use, farm profitability and environmental outcomes of government policies. The focus is on catchment or basin level outcomes.
The economics of recreational fishing management
This project uses data on recreational fishing destinations and activities to develop models that help identify the determinants of site choice and the values anglers attach to fish and site attributes.
