BSc (Hons)

We had some superb lecturers at UWA, and I loved all my studies - chemistry, geology, mathematics and physics, as well as some philosophy and elementary Greek.

Although I wished to be a working scientist, it was during my vacation jobs I came to see a wider picture and think that I might have something to offer as a Christian minister, priest, pastor and teacher. But I have never ceased being a scientist at heart, seeking to understand nature, life and the universe.

After graduating, I worked as a part time Graduate Assistant at UWA while I did my honours in Physics. A year later I did Honours in Maths. A scholarship then allowed me to study in Oxford, where I remained for three years before heading for Cambridge to study at a theological college before being ordained and returning to Australia.

I was elected a bishop while I was still fairly young, perhaps too young, but at least I had the energy to travel over the vast areas of the regions I served. And I have loved every minute of my life!
