During my time at UWA, I found my niche in molecular biology and biochemistry.
After graduating, I spent two years conducting medical research into breast cancer and leukaemia. While I enjoyed this, I also realised there was more to science than research, so I started work in the corporate side of science, an area which I really love.
After working in sales for a biotechnology/life sciences company, I moved into the Medical Device Industry. I was employed in the marketing department of a new company in Perth, which introduced the world's first commercially-available Artificial Cornea. The company was acquired by a large US company (CooperVision, Inc) and I am now working in their US office, responsible for creating the sales and marketing objectives and strategies.
My Science degree has opened many doors for me in my career. The ability to read, understand and talk science is invaluable in my day to day business dealings.
