The beautiful Abrolhos islands were among the field trips I undertook during the final year of her science degree majoring in botany and zoology.

Being out in the field was a fantastic part of the degree. I was able to develop a detailed understanding of animals and plants in their natural environment in a way that isn’t possible from a text book.

I chose my degree because of my passion for animals and the natural world. I was always exploring as a child and had several inspirational school teachers who encouraged my interest in science.

The degree has enabled me to pursue my love of the natural sciences while preparing for a professional career. I have decided to go on and do further research but the degree has prepared me equally for work with private and public science institutions.

University has given me the self confidence to tackle problems analytically, I now have a technical, theoretical and practical understanding of how the natural world works.
