When are my classes?

For laboratory and tutorial classes, use the online class registration system. This is available a few weeks before the start of each semester.

Use online timetables for all other information related to classes. If you can't find information for your unit, contact the school which teaches that unit.

What if I have timetable clashes?

If the units you have selected are not practicable within the timetable, it may be necessary to select other units.

If lecture and tutorial times coincide with other units, register a clash at the timetable website, and see the unit co-ordinators of the clashing units to ask whether a change of time is possible. You need to do this before the second week of semester.

If after talking to the unit coordinators the situation is not resolved, you may need to change your enrolment.

Are there lectures in the first week of Uni?

Lectures begin on the first day of semester, even if it is a public holiday. (Labour Day, Foundation Day and Queen's Birthday are normal working days at UWA.) Unit outlines and textbook lists are usually provided in the first lecture.

What about labs and tutes?

Laboratory classes begin in the first week in some units. In others, they begin in the second week, as do most tutorials. Check the online class registration system at least one week before semester starts, to see whether you can enter preferred class times. Then check your timetable before semester starts to see whether you have been allocated to classes. If not, check noticeboards in the school or discipline offices.

Lab classes are compulsory and you may be excluded from sitting the exam for a unit if you have not attended lab classes. If you are unable to attend a particular class, for good reason (e.g. illness), speak to the unit co-ordinator.

You must follow health and safety directives in laboratories.
