Why Study Science at UWA?

The Faculty of Science is offering a limited number of prestigious postgraduate research scholarships to academically outstanding international and domestic students wishing to undertake a research doctorate degree (PhD) in the Faculty of Science.

Postgraduate/Higher Degree by Research

All domestic postgraduate students may apply for the Faculty's new $50,000 scholarships, as detailed on this page.

Master's by Coursework bursaries

The Faculty of Science offers a number of Master's by Coursework bursaries:

  • These $2000 merit bursaries are available to domestic students commencing a full-fee Master's by Coursework in the Faculty of Science in 2016.
  • The bursaries are a one-off payment of $2000.
  • The awarding of the bursaries will be assessed on academic standing as at 31 December 2016.
  • To be eligible, you must have a WAM of 70 or above and have completed at least 24 points of study.
  • You do not need to apply. All students commencing a Science Master's coursework on a full-fee paying basis will be considered automatically.
  • Successful students will be notified by offer letter. Unsuccessful candidates will not be notified.

All international postgraduate students may apply for the Faculty's new $50,000 scholarships as detailed at the top of this page.

Science International Masters Scholarships

UWA invites high achieving students undertaking graduate studies to apply for a newly launched $2 million scholarship program for coursework master's degrees, including the Science International Masters Scholarships.

Science International Postgraduate Merit Awards

The Faculty of Science offers international students a number of Postgraduate Merit awards:

  • These awards are only available to full-fee paying international students who commence a Master's by Coursework in the Faculty of Science in 2015 or 2016.
  • Awards are valued at either $12,000 or $6000 (payable after census date each semester) e.g. for the $12,000 award, student will receive $3000 each semester over the two year Master course.
  • Students who are in receipt of a full-fee paying scholarship (for example Australian Awards) are not eligible.
  • To be considered for an International Science Postgraduate Merit Award, applicants need to have accepted an offer for one of the Faculty of Science Master's courses.
  • Students do not need to apply. All international students commencing a Science Master's coursework will be considered automatically.
  • Candidates will be ranked by the Faculty of Science Scholarship Selection Committee. Selection will be based on academic merit.
  • Successful students will be notified. Unsuccessful candidates will not be notified.
