Basic Testing Battery

  • Assessment of maximal oxygen consumption (VO2max), maximal heart rate (HRmax) and blood lactate threshold, and heart rate training zones. Note: These assessments can be performed on a bike, treadmill or rowing ergometer.
  • Power profile test (cycling only)
  • Running and cycling efficiency testing

Why should I undertake this testing battery?

Undertaking such testing regimes may provide athletes with a greater understanding of their body, and the current status of a number of factors relating to performance. Appropriate use of the data obtained from these tests can enhance an athlete?s ability to target specific performance limiting factors, resulting in greater training specificity, which may ultimately lead to better performances.
